During the first year students work towards the HNC qualification following a program of 10 units of study; on progression to the second year; students complete a further 6 units of study in depth; leading to the HND qualification; working with a team of permanent and visiting lecturers and artists; students follow a program of study that develop their existing skills and knowledge of art to a professional standard; the course gives scope for students to develop their artistic identities in drawing; painting; sculpture; print; lens based and new technologies; developing a thorough understanding of the ideas and concepts of contemporary arts practice; students are encouraged throughout the course to pursue exhibition and commission opportunities and begin to establish their careers as professional artists.
