Help shape the sustainable future of the tourism industry. Increased environmental awareness has brought the term "Flugscham" ("Flygskam") to everyone's lips. This is just an indication that for many consumers, air travel has been downgraded from a status symbol to an ecological offense. Germany is one of the top 5 countries with the highest CO2 emissions in the field of passenger aviation alongside China, Great Britain, the USA and Japan . It is a fact that around 2.5 percent of climate-damaging emissions worldwide are caused by flying, which also poses new challenges for the tourism industry. Sustainable travel and environmentally friendly tourism are high on the agenda in the tourism industry. The aim of the Masters in Tourism is to train qualified tourism management experts who strive for sustainable, socially just and economically successful tourism in the long term. With the interdisciplinary master's program of the Department of International Tourism Management (ITM) and the Center for Advanced Sustainable Management (CASM), you acquire the key qualifications required to profile yourself among employers in the tourism industry worldwide.
