Modern theatre audiences expect similar production values of quality and finish to those they see in film and television, and there is an increasing demand for multi-skilled makers who can deliver well-made and considered pieces; students learn a broad range of skills from which to develop effective making solutions; this enables them to take on the most unlikely and outrageous of briefs, from severed body-parts to intricate period furniture; areas of skill include: sculpting; mould making and casting; fibreglass work; woodwork; upholstery; welding and metalwork.
