This programme gives students the opportunity to work in either a specialist discipline or to combine the two fields of study; students may select different projects in fashion or textiles as they progress; this enables a personal and individual approach; students are encouraged to explore their potential through a variety of live projects and national competitions and recent graduates have won awards and prizes in fashion and bridal wear; illustration and accessory design; the department has links with industry and the profession; offering students a range of both fashion and textile work placements; catwalk shows and exhibitions give students the appropriate platform to present their work such as alternative fashion week; graduate fashion week and new designers; students have the opportunity to study and work both in a specific subject discipline as well as within the wider context of art, design and media where contemporary developments reveal that the traditional boundaries between disciplines are being challenged and eroded; this flexibility for students to develop their own creativity is made possible by the generic nature of the modules;
