This is a joint Honours scheme which allows the student to combine the 2 subjects, with approximately 50% of modules coming from each subject; the childhood and youth studies course is designed for anyone who wants a career involving children and young people; the course allows the student to study the development of children and young people alongside society's understanding of, and reaction to, them; drawing on a variety of disciplines, including sociology, education, psychology, social policy, and health, the student is able to fully explore the social and developmental contexts of childhood and youth from early years through to childhood and adolescence; the English course aims to give the student a firm grounding in English language and literature; the student develops attributes such as communication skills, independent thinking and self-expression.

Расположение

Основной студенческий городок расположен в городке Ормскирк, другие территории Университета находятся в северо-западной части страны и вблизи центральных графств. Студентам предоставляется бесплатный проездной билет на проезд из университетского кампуса до городка Ормскирк и обратно. Кампус находится в 5 минутах езды от крупной автомагистрали. До городов Ливерпуль и Престон можно доехать на поезде за 30 минут.
