Students gain a critical, comprehensive and interdisciplinary preparation for multi-professional work in early childhood; the course takes an holistic approach to understanding early childhood; students appreciate the development, needs and experience of young children; and learn how to analyse practical and theoretical situations in the context of child development and childhood; they become able to relate appropriate theory to early childhood practice, demonstrate an understanding of research methodology and discover how to apply this knowledge by undertaking a small scale research project.
