Specific aims are to enable students to obtain a broad understanding of general business management areas as a result of studying the BTEC core modules; to create an understanding of accounting practices and techniques through the specialised pathway modules; to create an awareness of the changing commercial and public and voluntary sector environment within which accounting is practised; to enable each student to have a more tailored and individual programme of study that meets their current interests and future career aspirations; to help prepare students for work or further study in the accounting field; to provide opportunities for students to progress to both single and combined honours degree programmes in both accounting and business management areas and to gain as many exemptions as possible.
