The course aims to: provide students with the appropriate combined backgrounds in computer science and molecular biology to engage in higher studies of bioinformatics and systems biology and functional genomics; to enable students to understand the information rich nature of modern molecular biological research, how these data are obtained and approaches to analysis and exploitation; to train students in the practical application of data analysis approaches.
