Trainees have 2 days of induction at the beginning of the course and are introduced to their host school and mentor during the 1st week; during the autumn term trainees spend 3 days a week in school and 2 days on professional studies and developing their subject knowledge; during the spring term trainees complete a 5-week block teaching practice in their twin placement school and in the summer term trainees return to their host school to complete a 6-week block teaching practice; each trainee is assigned a mentor who supports and guides them through their professional development; throughout the year trainees complete directed tasks and assignments and collect a range of evidence for their Professional Development Portfolio which is a core requirement for the successful completion of the course.
