Provides training for choreographers who are also performers and who can make work for their own bodies as well as working in collaboration with other performers; body work/technique sessions alternate between ballet and contemporary techniques, including Pilates, release-based body work and improvisation; the body work technique sessions are aimed at mind-body practice (strength, co-ordination, balance, stamina), in order to prepare the body for creative work; the choreography sessions also involve a concentration on body work and improvisation; course focuses on performance-making and assessments are through either practical (e.g. creating performance) or presentations of journals and written work that are related to the student’s practice.
