Year 1: General course intended to be one of breadth of study; includes core drawing studies; printmaking; painting; sculpture; tapestry; visual and cultural studies; 3 design subjects may be selected including 1 arts specialist subject and 1 from graphic design, illustration, film/television, photography, animation. Year 2: Awareness and understanding of the range, both contemporary and historical, of materials, processes and techniques in performance costume; pattern cutting; collaborative projects. Year 3: Development of design and technical ability; projects; understanding of cloth and form; development of colour, fabric and costume shape. Year 4: Final year collections; individual study and research; presentation of costumes to express students' personal philosophy.
