The main requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from a German higher education institution, or an academic degree recognised to be equivalent.
In order to gain admission to the MSc course in Biochemistry at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt/M., knowledge in (1) biochemistry and (2) biophysical chemistry/biophysics/physical chemistry is required. You must have obtained at least a total of 20 CP in areas (1) and (2), while at least 5 CP are required for each subject.
International applicants must submit a language certificate. This is in accordance with the university’s regulations on the German language exam for university entry, the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH), for applicants with foreign university entrance qualifications in their respectively valid version, unless they are exempted from the German language examination under the DSH regulations. In order to submit an application for Master’s programmes with German as language of instruction, you have to present German language certificates proving at least completed level C1.
