The course builds on the adventure tourism and outdoor pursuits course which provided students with an academic and practical skills profile appropriate to the current needs of the associated industries; this course has an emphasis on experiential learning and the acquisition of industry related awards combined with academic study; the course offers the opportunity to study a variety of sport and leisure areas which include the planning and management of activities ranging from adventure and extreme sports to land-based pursuits such as hill-walking and orienteering; students also develop transferable organisational, managerial and leadership skills.
