Course aims: to promote and develop independent critical engagement with the complexity and sophistication of literary and non-literary and media texts; to encourage creativity and critical self-reflection and an awareness of cultural production and reception of meaning; to develop an awareness and appreciation of the cultural importance of creative writing and media; to provide students with opportunity to generate, develop, articulate and execute ideas in an efficient and professional manner; to develop the transferable technical, analytical and critical skills of students appropriate to professional; to develop students’ critical awareness of the new communications technologies and their impact on traditional media.
