If you are not a native German speaker, you must demonstrate sufficient German language skills on level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). You can demonstrate these skills by the successful completion of the DSH-exam (at least DSH-2) or the TestDaF (at least 4XTDN4). A Bachelor's programme or comparable progamme in German Philology or a closely related subject of at least 6 semesters in length. A Bachelor's degree or comparable degree with an overall grade of 2.5. In case a Bachelor's programme has not yet been completed, a weighted grade of 2.5 based on 150 credits. In addition, there is another admission procedure in case the grade is worse than 2.5 (to 3.0), which integrates the grade of the results of an additional oral examination and a selection interview. Verification required of academic achievement in German Philology in the scope of at least 49 credits, including achievement in the basic, advances and in-depth studies of at least 16 credits each in at at least two of the three Germanistic sub-subjects of Modern German Literature, German Medieval Studies and German Lingustics.
