A degree validated by a higher education institution in the United Kingdom or a degree of an equivalent standard from an institution outside the United Kingdom; degree should contain 80 SCOTCAT credit points relevant to the teaching qualification or qualifications being studied; forty of the credit points must have been studied at SCQF level 8 or above; must also have a national qualifications course award in English at Scottish credit and qualifications framework at level 6, or an equivalent; in addition specific requirements are as follows a sports related degree with 80 points combined from credit rated modules that relate to physical education either in terms of ; how to teach/coach (skill acquisition; movement education; coaching pedagogy); knowledge and understanding in physical education (sport science based subjects); student's own performance in physical education; activities; dance; gymnastics; games; swimming; athletics are some examples).
