Students learn how to produce condition reports for the artefacts and objects placed in the professional's care as such: primary source material demands; careful analysis before any work is carried out; historical and theoretical studies help students to place objects in their original context; students are introduced to current ethical practice expected by professional associations and a series of science lectures give the theoretical know-how to test materials and undertake technical work.
