The main campus is located among several ridges that overlook the Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. It has been described as "undoubtedly one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States." The main campus entrance road ascends a steep, well-groomed grassy slope past a huge stylized cross, known as the Phillips Theme Tower, symbolizing the university's dedication to its original Christian mission.

The Princeton Review ranked Pepperdine on the list of colleges with "Dorms Like Palaces" in 2004 and 2007 and #1 under "Most Beautiful Campus" in 2006 and 2007. Pepperdine also appeared on other lists including "Students Pray on a Regular Basis" and "High Quality of Life." Because of its Christian affiliation, some contend that the student body breeds a religious and politically conservative atmosphere.

The beach is about a 15 minute walk from campus or a 5 minute drive to the Malibu Lagoon or Ralph's Beach. Most people go to Zuma beach though which is about a 20 minute drive north on PCH. 

When there is no traffic, LA is only a half hour away and there are endless things to do there. Students can hang out in Santa Monica or for a hike. Pepperdine students are very active and there are many group hikes set up by Campus Rec throughout the semester, along with fun camping trips.

There is a Regal theatre about a mile away from the school and the Pacific Coast Highway has beach all along it for people who like surfing or just hanging out on the sand. Campus Recreation leads several hiking and camping trips around the year (such as to Yosemite or Joshua Tree park) for free or really discounted prices. 

The student programming board also hosts a variety of fun activities on campus not limited to movie screenings, breakfast for dinner, poetry/fiction readings, and monthly improve shows and Coffee Houses (student music performances).

98% of first-year students living in college housing. Freshmen are guaranteed housing. Types of housing include women's dorms, men's dorms, married student apartments, single student apartments, disabled student housing.

The career center provides a variety of services and support for students, alumni, and employers.  Students and alumni can meet one-on-one to engage in career exploration or meet with an industry specialist for internship and job search support.  

Employers can partner with Pepperdine to build their brand on campus, post positions, and attend on-campus recruitment activities.  Additional resources are also available for parents and faculty, who are critical partners in the career development process.  Together university equips graduates to prepare and compete professionally.
