Eindhoven can justifiably be called a student city. Quite a lot of Eindhoven’s students have rooms in the city. There are plenty of places and facilities that appeal to students, such as the many cafés on the Stratumseind street, the cinemas and theater centers and the Student Sports Centre Eindhoven. The Markt is the place to go out or just enjoy a light meal with a group of friends; there is a wide choice of affordable cafés serving food and small restaurants.
Finding affordable student accommodation in Eindhoven can be difficult. The university does not own any student accommodation but has agreements with a number of housing organisations, which reserve some accommodation for international students and staff. Students are strongly advised to use the TU/e housing service, and to apply for accommodation at least two months before arrival. Accommodation costs around €350-450 per month. Besides, in Eindhoven you will find several hotels and possibilities of temporary accommodation.
Eindhoven enables students to participate in different career events like a variety of workshops, coach café, CV check and a networking drinks. Some 50% of the graduates of the Master’s degree programs are offered the chance to work at the company where they did their final project. The other 50% finds work elsewhere in a short space of time. Even in periods of a less buoyant job market, EU students usually find a suitable job within a few months.
The Eindhoven University of Technology is situated in Netherlands. TU/e main campus is at some eight minutes walking distance from Eindhoven railway station. This makes it easy to come by public transport. Eindhoven airport is five kilometres outside the city and there is a shuttle bus between the airport and railway station. Most university buildings are connected by walkways.
