Zlín offers a wide range of sporting and recreational opportunities. The town of Zlín also provides several sports facilities, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, two ice skating rinks, artificial ski slope, squash facilities, tennis courts and bowling. There are also great opportunities for hiking, cycling, horse riding and fishing. The region has hundreds of kilometres of marked hiking trails designed to suit all age groups. The international Moravian Cycling Route passes through the region.

The Library of TBU in Zlín offers services mainly to University teachers and students but also to the public interested in special literature. 

Wired internet connection is available in all rooms.

International students make almost ten per cent of the total student body, and they come from over 40 countries. The student organisation Buddy System Zlin is aimed to organise activities such as trips for international students.

The campus offers accommodation and sports facilities such as two gyms and a fitness centre. For other sports such as ice skating, swimming, skiing, tennis, bowling, hiking, horse riding and fishing students have the town of Zlin at their disposal. 

As for cultural activities the town hosts the annual International Film Festival for Children and Youth. It also has rock clubs, art galleries, a theatre and an orchestra as well as a Shoe Museum, a Classic Car Museum and the Museum of South-East Moravia.

The university offers high quality accommodation to students, academic staff and guests in single, double and triple rooms depending on the type of Halls at reasonable prices. Beds for disabled persons are available as well. The accommodation facilities are located within a 10-minute walking distance from the town centre. Guests may get free access to the Internet. Students and guests accommodated in the Halls may also use reading rooms.

All international students stay in the recently rebuilt building T. G. M. Hall of Residence or Štefánikova Hall of Residence that are situated within walking distance of basically all of TBU Faculties.

Restaurants, shops, park, cinema, art gallery, philharmonic orchestra building, sports centre, indoor swimming pool, ski slope, tennis courts, etc. are situated near the Hall of Residence.

Individual career counselling includes activities that are orientated particularly towards searching and mediating appropriate jobs for self-motivated students. It gives advice on how to write a CV, a cover letter or helps to choose a job. The following services are offered TBU students and graduates:
