Студенческая жизнь

Throughout the year, various social activities are arranged for all the students and for international students specifically. These activities include Introduction Days for new students, orientation programmes for international students, international dinners, courses, lectures, sports activities such as fun runs or bicycle races, and career workshops.

Student associations: The student associations are also very active and encourage active participation in their activities and clubs.

Student politics: Student associations also play an important role in student politics. Traditionally, students have a lot of influence and most boards and committees at the Faculty include student representatives.

Student bar and café: The student associations also run the student bars in the various campus areas and a café in an old renovated greenhouse at Frederiksberg Campus which is very popular with students and local citizens alike.

Sport activities: Student sport clubs cover a wide range of sports, including badminton, basketball, football, handball and volleyball, as well as gymnastics, folk dance and swimming. As students it is possible to sign up for sports activities at discounted rates.

The University campus features several departments of the University Library. Copenhagen University Library Service (CULIS) has been established by an agreement between the university and the Royal Library. It is made up of Copenhagen University Library , which is a division of the Royal Library, and of the faculty and departmental libraries run by the university itself.

Copenhagen is relatively small (1.2 mill) and compact compared to other capitals, so it is easy to quickly know your way around. The University of Copenhagen has four campus areas in Copenhagen. The University premises range from historic buildings in the medieval city centre to modern buildings being constructed today to develop the campus areas and accommodate state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities.

  • City Campus: As indicated in the name, the City Campus is in the heart of Copenhagen city centre. The campus area comprises the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Social Sciences and some of the Health Sciences.
  • North Campus: The campus area is located just north of the city centre, across from Copenhagen's largest park, Fælledparken, between the high end area of Østerbro and Nørrebro. 14,000 students in the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences study at the North Campus.
  • Frederiksberg Campus: The Frederiksberg Campus hosts part of the Faculty of Science with areas of studies including natural and biosciences. It is located a few kilometres west of the city centre in beautiful green surroundings.
  • South Campus: The South campus is located just south of the city centre and has a student population of around 11,000. The campus is home to the Faculty of Humanities.
