The University at Buffalo is the state's largest and most comprehensive public university and is spread across three campuses: North Campus, South Campus, and Downtown Campus. UB was awarded the EPA "Environmental Champion Award" in 2015 and is ranked as one of the top 50 "green colleges and universities" in the nation, working towards becoming climate neutral by 2030.

University at Buffalo--SUNY offers a number of student services, including nonremedial tutoring, placement service, day care, health service, health insurance. 

University at Buffalo--SUNY also offers campus safety and security services like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, late night transport/escort service, 24-hour emergency telephones, lighted pathways/sidewalks, student patrols, controlled dormitory access  - key, security card, etc. Of the students at University at Buffalo--SUNY, 70 percent have cars on campus. Alcohol is permitted for students of legal age at the university.

Students are highly recommended to join organizations! There is always something going on on-campus. Also, students may take a trip to downtown Buffalo with a student bus pass and go to see a play or hang out with friends. There is a lot to do in the city of Buffalo.

There are various events that the campus organizes for student recreations. There are also various clubs that students can join and countless recreational areas where they can either sit and hang out, or study quietly and focus.

School host many events like fashion shows, pageants, cultural shows, Apollo Night, Mr.Smooth Contest, Poetry Slams, Tea Parties, and parties hosted by which ever club. Students can ice skate in the arena, play many sports in the gym or exercise. Many events happen off-campus as well. In addition, students can watch the school's sports teams play, go to the lake or the many museums across the street.

While living on campus at UB, students are a part of a community. They are more likely to get better grades. Moreover, they will enjoy the support, safety and convenience that they will not find anywhere else. Students’ eligibility to live in a specific residence hall or apartment complex starts with the year they graduated from high school or equivalent.

Student residence halls are located on both the North and the South Campuses. UB campus services include: free laundry, free cable and internet, fitness facilities, academic success centers and 24/7 access to UB’s on-campus buses and shuttles.
